Student visas allow international students to come to Australia to undertake a course of study.
You must be enrolled in an eligible course and demonstrate genuine intentions to study in Australia.
Types of courses
There are a wide range of courses in which a student can enroll:
The genuine temporary entrant requirement
The genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement, also known as the genuine student (GS) requirement, is designed by the Department of Home Affairs to identify applicants’ intentions and to make sure they are not using the student visa program for motives other than gaining a quality education. The success of your student visa application will largely depend on the quality and the content of your GTE along with the evidence provided to support your statement.
